A BIT ABOUT US

Class sizes are typically 2-4 pupils, which will ensure a high degree of personal attention.  

Our aim is to improve pupil's performance and re-motivate those whose marks are deteriorating. We concentrate on rectifying problems, which the pupils are experiencing in their schoolwork.  

Edu-Help worksheets will be given to your child.  They must be brought to every lesson, in their files.

They will be used as revision notes and will serve as a base for the following lesson.

We welcome parents to communicate any problem areas being experienced at school, to enable us to concentrate our efforts on those areas.

Supplementary education IS NOT:

* a reflection on the teaching ability of the "in-class" teacher who constantly battles against large classes, different learning abilities and varied learning tempo's.

* a money making racket (reputable supplementary educationists limit pupils to 2-4 pupils per session).

* an outlet for the lazy child to "pass the buck".

Supplementary education IS an attempt to re-motivate the child who has become "lost" in class as a result of:

* an increased volume of work

* increased tempo of work

* parent, teacher or peer pressure.

In summary:

The supplementary educationist should be a "crutch" for parent, in-class teacher and pupil - the four working closely together.  The pupil sometimes needing a few lessons to fill the gap or a steady, on-going education, where concepts are constantly revised and reinforced, allowing the child to perform to his/her true potential.
